WVU Medicine Children’s Capital Campaign

The Marc Bulger Foundation, established by the former WVU and NFL quarterback for whom it is named, has donated $100,000 to the WVU Medicine Children’s Capital Campaign. Bulger’s gift will be put toward an initiative started by Jeff Hostetler, also a former WVU and NFL quarterback and co-chair of the WVU Medicine Children’s Capital Campaign, to create a WVU sports-themed floor in the new tower for Children’s where patients can get away from their rooms and just be kids.

At the 2018 Ace Hardware Shootout in Kona, HI, benefiting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), Marc won fan favorite. As a result, he chose Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital to be the recipient of his 30K winnings. At the event, Marc met Parker Grelecki (above in Marc's jersey), the Ace All-Star. He was personally touched by his magnetic personality and his miraculous story. He was the reason for TMBF expanding our mission statement to include courageous kids battleing life-threatening illness. On top of the awarded amount, TMBF donated another 10K in Parker's name. Thank you again to Ace for your great work with CMNH.

TMBF was privileged to be a sponsor for this event, benefitting Special Operations Forces and Law Enforcement communities and their families. These organizations greatly improve our quality of life by providing us with security and safety, daily. TCS provide support and assistance for and their family members when difficult and tragic situations arise. They are one of the few charities that operate without overhead, allowing all funds raised to go directly to their cause.

Detective Sean Cappiello (Cappy) was involved in a head-on collision on his way home from work February 2017. Cappy lives in Ozona, Florida with his wife and son and has worked for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office since 2005. TMBF was a sponsor for this event which helped Cappy and his family during his recovery. Since then, he has been able to return to active duty.

17th Annual Firehouse Chili Cookoff

October 16, 2016 / Benefitting Sarasota Firefighters Benevolent Fund / Sarasota, Fla.

Morton's Gourmet Market Annual Firehouse hosted by the SFFBF has been a tradition in downtown Sarasota for the past 17 years. All proceedes from the event are dontated to assist Sarasota County Firemen and their families in times of crisis. Additionally, it was a great opportunity to sample some of the best Chili in the South. Marc volunteered this year to be one of the celebrity judges and TMBF made a donation.

Introducing Bonnie

May 5, 2016 / Cyber Crime Unit Newest Member / St. Charles, Mo.

Bonnie, a 53-pound yellow Labrador, made her debut alongside her handler, Detective Brigid Oldani, at the department’s headquarters. Together, they will help track down child exploitation criminals. Bonnie can detect a chemical odor that electronic storage devices give off. Bonnie is the first of her kind in Missouri and only one of seven across the United States. TMBF made a $2,500 donation to cover the cost of buying Bonnie from the New York-based Guiding Eyes for the Blind, which sells dogs that cannot be used as service dogs for various reasons.

USMC Birthday Gala

USMC Birthday Gala

Marc was honored to meet Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and 36th Commandant of the USMC, General Joseph Dunford. General Dunford spoke at this year's 240th USMC Birthday Luncheon. Founder of the Semper Fidelis Society of Boston, Tommy Lyons, does a tremendous job every year organizing this event. Other highlights included: The traditional cake cutting ceremony with the first piece being served to the oldest Marine in the room, and the second, to the youngest; Drop Kick Murphys band being presented with an award for their continual support of the USMC. Governor of Massachusetts, Chalie Baker, a number of Marine Medal of Honor recipients and Gold Star Families were also in attendance.
